Summer approaches. It finally feels like it is going to happen. I attended RailsConf 2024 which was in Detroit, MI. Since I write here about more personal stuff than work, I won't do a deep dive. You'll be happy to note that Peanut came with me. He stayed in the hotel most of the time, but I'll have to do more with the guys when they join me on a future trips. We haven't had a lot of snowfall this winter. I was able to get the above photo of a coyote which made it a great choice for this post's masthead considering that as I post this it's pretty cold and wet out. Not cold enough to snow, but we're still feeling winter. I obviously skipped my post for February. That was primarily due to travel. My mom visited Phoenix, so my wife and I stayed there a few days to show her around town. And then I had a work trip to…

Watson Lake, Prescott, AZ It's been a number of years since we hiked…

This time to my company's annual trip to Cancun, Mexico. We pay for travel, they pay for everything else for up to three thousand or so emp…

My now annual board gaming retreat with friends took us to a lake house in East Texas for a long weekend. My brother and dad don't live too far from there, I decided to extend my trip and visit them, too. Last year, we were all gifted a Christmas themed game construction kit. The goal to create a game we'd all play during our weekend. Those made it out to the table alon…
